![]() ![]() The ending was good (though I wish Nishiki had said "get the fuck outta here. The helipad battle was absolute trash, constantly getting shot, exploded or stabbed and when you actually get to the enemy they just fucking flashstep away magically. ![]() I have now upgraded everything and have just XP pouring in that I can't use for anything. The game could have used one more upgrade circle for each skill tree. I have the beast amulet in use at all times. I think I barely use brawler and dragon styles because rush and beast are just either faster or more damaging. The higher the climax bar the more damage you do so drinking some stamina drink right before executing a heat action can help.Use rush style to kite his attacks and get a combo in to raise the heat bar.If you upgrade health enough you can mostly just tank any damage and I think there might be some skill upgrade that avoids being interrupted if hit during attacks. Just wail on him in beast mode with any big items in vicinity.I'm at Majima S rank and while he does get a bit spongy, most of the time one of these tactics works: The Coliseum enemies have given me far more trouble than anything in the main game. ![]() Shakedown in Yakuza Zero but I've found myself totally trashing most bosses. I don't know if it's skills picked up from grinding Mr. That in itself makes Kiwami worth picking up, especially if you enjoyed any other Yakuza game. Overall - there's still nothing quite like Yakuza on the market. ![]() It's definitely rough around the edges (but the game was originally released for $29.99), likely due to the noticeable lower budget but I honestly can't complain at this price-point. The Majima Everywhere system is also a lot of fun. I also really enjoyed using Beast mode this time around, when upgraded it became so amazingly fun to use. Combat, when it works (and Kiwami really opens up the more exp & skills you unlock), is just super satisfying as always with a lot of fun curbstomping heat actions to use. Substories are a step back I thought, where in Yakuza 0 some of them could be quite lengthy and enjoyable, but I still need to play a lot more of them in Premium Adventure now that I'm done with the main story. All in all, it's good fun - story & writing in general is definitely weaker than in Y0 (understandable since it was the first Yakuza game released, and on PS2 nonetheless), fewerr mini-games overall and a few bosses/encounters are straight up annoying bullshit. ![]()
